Summary<br>Engcon Nordic AB is a company located in Stromsund and is part of the Angon group. Engcon is<br>a world leader in the production of tiltrotators and gearboxes for excavators.<br>These engcon tiltrotators are manufactured on order by the customer, where it is possible to choose between different<br>sizes, anchorages and the gear attachment are possible. At the time of writing, a new type of<br>a tool holder, for the attachment of a so-called grip box, called a QSD60 attachment.<br>This QSD60 attachment, which allows the mounting of a grip box on the tiltrotator, is now intended to be manufactured<br>by welding together several finished and processed plates, together with an integrated<br>hydraulic blocks for control of the arresting clone. This method of production with welding is a cost and<br>time-consuming alternatives. Engcon Nordic AB has instructed me to investigate the possibility of<br>pour this fortress and find out what this means for the company.<br>The purpose of this examination is to provide a basis and a preliminary study on how casting should be carried out:<br>implementation, i.e. the casting method to be used, the material s suitable for this purpose;<br>the purpose and, if possible, make proposals for the design optimisation of this anchorage in order to adapt it to:<br>casting.<br>This work is divided into three parts. The first part consists of collecting information on<br>the casting methods currently available and the materials available to be used;<br>The information collected is then used to present a proposal for the casting method and<br>which material is preferable with regard to the design and material requirements of the attachment. The second<br>the part of this work consists of finding out how the casting of this anchorage should be done for the chosen casting method, if:<br>the anchor may be cast into a single piece or if it will be required to do so, in respect of:<br>machining required by the attachment. The last part of this work consists of making an approximate<br>the unit price calculation for this cast-iron anchorage.<br>
